Evangelism/Outreach meeting- July 15, 2010
The Evangelism/Outreach Committee met on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. in the Church Library.
Members present were: Samme W., John & Shirley L., Jacque H., Pastor Wayne and Dorothy E., Chairperson.
Samme reported how the Peer Support Program. Samme, Shirley and John met with Kelly Jones and talked about seeing if there was enough interest in the fall for the Peer Support Program.
Dorothy reported that the door hangers and post cards for out Friendship Sunday, August 1, 2010 were handed out to the congregation on July 4, 2010 and there are extra ones at the welcome center in the foyer. Someone will need to promote Friendship Sunday, because she will not be in church for the next two Sundays.
Dorothy will cover the welcome center for Friendship Day, Samme will coordinate with Nancy for hospitality and Jacque will cover the Muggers Team for Pam while she is out of commission.
Saturday, July 31st at 9 a.m. has been scheduled to set up Fellowship Hall for the fellowship dinner on Friendship Day.
There was discussion about ordering new lanyards for out nametags. Dorothy will look the prices up and present it at the next meeting.
The 33rd Annual Bishop’s Round-Up for Hunger starts soon. There was discussion on what we would do this year for it. It was decided that the need for Health Kits was still great. Dorothy will prepare the information for collecting the health kits. They are a little different than the ones that went to Haiti. We will have to supply bath towels instead of a hand towels, shampoo and toothpaste also for them.
